Very exciting news for Patrick Swayze fans!! A&E is reportedly moving forward on a new series that will star Patrick Swayze.  Hot Momma knew this was a possibility but feared A&E’s gamble on Patrick’s health might prevent this from happening.  But it now looks like a go, so here’s the details.

In the series called “The Beast,” Swayze will play an unorthodox FBI veteran training a new partner, played by Travis Fimmel, who starred in ABC’s 2003 series “Tarzan.” Swayze’s character is under investigation by a secret Internal Affairs team that wants Fimmel’s character to spy on his partner as part of the inquiry.

Production will begin this summer in Chicago on 13 one-hour episodes. The series is tentatively scheduled to air in early 2009.

A&E said Patrick “has responded well to treatment and his doctors have given him the go-ahead to resume working.” Patrick was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year.
