Seth Rogan to play The Green Hornet!!

Hollywood’s newest superhero is going to be played by the unlikely Seth Rogan. Yes, the guy from Superbad and Knocked Up.

Rogan’s taking the lead role of Britt Reid — a bored playboy who inherits his father’s crusading newspaper and spends his nights fighting crime with his sidekick, Kato. Rogan as a playboy, that’s acting!! Rogan reportedly is also writing the script for the DC comic charcter The Green Hornet with his writing partner, Evan Goldberg (Superbad) and it’s due in theaters in 2010. Perhaps it will be a comedy spoof? My recollection of the original Green Hornet was a dapper fellow. The 1966 tv series featured Van Williams as The Green Hornet and Bruce Lee, as Kato. That was casting! This casting is reminiscent of Micheal Keaton playing the role of Batman. Who knows it could work.
