Disney, fires Brittany Murphy, Mae Whitman is the new voice of Tinker Bell!

Published on June 2, 2008 at 1:36 PM

Brittany Murphy has reportedly been fired by Disney Studios and will no longer be lending her voice to beloved character Tinkerbell.
Back in 2006, Disney announced that Murphy would be their new voice of Tinkerbell. They planned to use her for work in their animated cartoons, commercials and vacation promotions.
Now all of a sudden Disney made the announcement that Brittany Murphy would no longer be the voice for Tinkerbell. Actress Mae Whitman, will take over the coveted speaking role. Whitman is a 19 year old actress, best known for her voice work on Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Jungle Book 2, Johnny Bravo and Superman. She was also the President’s daughter in Independence Day.

No comment from either rep as to why. But Hot Momma will say there have been rumors swirling of Brittany’s on set diva behavior in the past including her ever-present oddball husband and screenwriter, Simon Monjack. Furthermore my source on this story insists there are rumors of drug using issues surrounding Brittany. It all adds up to the wrong image for Disney.
