Bill Murray’s wife makes serious accusations in divorce papers

Bill Murray’s wife of more than 10 years has filed for divorce and it looks like it’s going to be a very messy split. Jennifer Butler Murray, claims her actor-comedian husband is an alcoholic, drug addicted man who beat her, cheated on her and abandoned her, as reason for divorce in court papers filed on May 12th in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Charleston Post & Courier reports that Jennifer also wants the court to examine their 23-page pre-nup agreement. According to the pre-nup, both parties retain all of their separate property, waive any right to alimony or support and maintain responsibilities for their children. However Jennifer is entitled to $7 million if they divorce.

The two were married in 1997 and they have 4 kids (all minors) together. Jennifer moved into a Sullivan’s Island home in 2006 to escape Bill’s constant alleged abuse.  Jennifer Murray also seeks a restraining order barring Bill Murray from her Sullivan’s Island home, due to her husband’s “adultery, addiction to marijuana and alcohol, abusive behavior, physical abuse, sexual addictions and frequent abandonment.”

In the 6-page divorce papers, Jennifer states that in November 2007, Bill “hit his wife in the face and then told her she was ‘lucky he didn’t kill her.’ “
