American tennis player Ashley Harkleroad poses for Playboy

American professional tennis player Ashley Harkleroad is rarely on center court, but she will be a centerfold.
After the 23-year-old tennis player lost to Serena Williams in the first round of the French Open Sunday, Ashley announced that she will appear in the August issue of Playboy. Harkleroad told the press that she posed for the men’s magazine earlier this year while recovering from surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. Harkleroad said:
“I was just laying there for three weeks, and, you know, an offer came to me,” “I thought, well, I’m not really doing anything right now so I thought about it and it was something that I did. I’m proud of my body. I was representing a female athlete’s body.”
The 61st-ranked American will be the first tennis player to appear in the magazine, adding that she wore clothes “sometimes” during her shoot.
“It was hard work, but, you know, it was just a completely different experience,” she said. “It was fun.”
