Great season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ ends with woman champion

Kristi Yamaguchi won “Dancing with the Stars” last night with her partner Mark Ballas. There was kind of a big deal made, because a woman hasn’t won since season 1. Not taking anything away from Kristi’s accomplishment but she was my odds on favorite to win from the start because of her Olympic gold medalist skating background. Still she had to learn the footwork and work at getting her performance personality to fully emerge. The figure skater came into the final contest Tuesday with a perfect score and bested fan favorites Jason Taylor and Cristian de la Fuente to claim the mirrorball trophy. Kristi had the highest scores of any competitor in the show’s history.
Congrats Kristi! And kudos to football player Jason Taylor, an aspiring actor who won many fans over with his fine personality, looks and dancing. Likewise handsome Cristian de la Fuente was a true gentleman and persevered after rupturing a tendon in his biceps while dancing on April 28, but delayed the surgery necessary to repair it, so he could continue in the contest.
