Details on the Pete Wentz – Ashlee Simpson wedding

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are newlyweds.
The little sister of Jessica Simpson and the Fall Out Boy bassist tied the knot Saturday night at her parents’ Los Angeles-area home with an “Alice in Wonderland” theme, according to People magazine.

Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, exchanged vows at the property in Encino, a bedroom community in the San Fernando Valley. Papa Joe Simpson, her father, performed the non-denominational ceremony and probably took photos too, to sell to the magazines later. After escorting Ashlee down the aisle, Papa Joe also regaled the 100-plus guests with funny and touching stories of his daughter before performing the brief ceremony himself.

Jessica Simpson was the maid of honor and Wentz’s English bulldog, Hemingway, was the ring-bearer (insert your own dog jokes Jessica’s reportedly ex-boyfriend, Tony Romo did attend the wedding and so did Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. Jessica was said to be subdued throughout the night but give a touching off the cuff toast to the newlyweds.

For the fashion watchers Ashlee wore a Monique Lhuillier gown, accessorized by a diamond necklace and earrings by Neil Lane.
People Magazine also reported Saturday that the couple is expecting a child together, which both Simpson and Wentz have long denied. Well duh!

The Alice in Wonderland themed reception featured a wedding cake by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings with a top hat, tea pot, stop watch and a pot of flowers on top. The elaborate centerpieces of black beauty roses were by Mark’s Garden. By the way there will be wedding pictures probably in the next issue of People Magazine and any other tabloid that’s willing to pay the few hundred thousand dollar fee. That’s the way Papa Joe Simpson rolls.
