Jenna Bush’s wedding is Saturday, and one prospective guest, Ralph Lauren’s son, David, has not been invited despite having been her cousin Lauren Bush’s boyfriend for three years, according to the NY Daily News.

The heir apparent to the Polo empire and Lauren Bush (daughter of Neil) are not seen as an ideal match by some members of the Bush family, including former President George H.W. Bush and still-powerful matriarch Barbara. They have problems with the match and it’s not the nagging ‘name concern’ of the gorgeous model becoming Mrs. Lauren Lauren.

“Lauren’s grandparents have concerns about the relationship,” said one source close to the family. “They’re very concerned about his age [36]. They think he’s a little old for her. [She’s 22.] Also, they’ve been going out for three years. Where’s the ring, David?”

Lauren by the way is a fashion model, signed with the Elite Model Agency. She has been featured on the covers of Vogue and Vanity Fair and was a much-used model at Tommy Hilfiger as well as for Abercrombie & Fitch.

Anyway perhaps the big issue of the relationship may be that Lauren’s mother, Sharon, is a devout Christian.

“There are religious differences,” one points out. “Would he expect her to convert to Judaism?”

Others point out that Jenna Bush and fiance Henry Hager, son of top Virginia Republican John Hager, have invited only about 200 guests to their evening wedding at President Bush’s 1,600-acre ranch in Crawford, Tex.

One Bush insider insisted that Lauren’s grandparents “don’t disapprove of David, and that the wedding is so intimate that even the siblings of former President Bush aren’t invited.
