According to new reports, Disney announced on Thursday that Miley Cyrus will not be attending her first scheduled public appearance since the controversy surrounding her risqué photo shoot for Vanity Fair, Disney said Thursday.

The 15-year-old teen sensation has, for several weeks, been scheduled to attend a red carpet event this coming Friday in Orlando, along with dozens of other Disney Channel stars to film the Disney Channel Games, a charity competition, but Disney confirmed she is no longer expected.

Disney did not elaborate on the reason for Miley’s absence from the party.

But it’s clear Miley has been temporarily grounded for throwing a monkey wrench into the moneymaking machine! We hope she gets the message.
