Cher reminisces again about romance with Tom Cruise

Cher’s been talking about her romantic past with Tom Cruise again! It’s probably no coincidence that her new Las Vegas show is set to open next month, and it’s time to pull out all the stops to drum up some extra publicity.
In an interview earlier this year here on Good Morning America, Cher states, “I did date him [Cruise]. He was just the most adorable man you can imagine. He wasn’t into Scientology then. I don’t understand the whole Scientology thing.”
And just recently, when on the Oprah show taping this past weekend, Cher opened up more about her relationship with Tom saying, “I was crazy about him.” Oprah’s audience went especially crazy cheering when Cher spoke of one particularly “long night” in Tom’s arms.
In the show, to be seen next month, Cher revealed the two supposedly met for the first time in the mid ’80s at a White House fund-raising event, just after Tom’s success with his hit film Risky Business.
At the time, Cher was 39 and Tom was just 23.
Cher added,
“He was shy. He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school. He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognized, he got all her attention.”
The two allegedly dated for several months. Their relationship ended when Cruise met his first wife, Mimi Rogers, six years older than he was. Mimi and Tom lasted for three years. Cruise definitely had a thing for older women back then, but moved on to younger women after splitting with Mimi.
Cher says she’s not seeing anyone now adding, “Dating is a strange thing. It’s not every man who can be comfortable with me. Being Cher is a hard thing and difficult for him to hold his place.”
