Is Amy Winehouse’s new boyfriend a savior or a wolf in sheep’s clothing?

As we reported here, currently married Amy Winehouse,is said to be ‘dating’ her manager Raye Cosbert’s assistant Alex Haynes over the last month. The new relationship comes to the delight of the singer’s friends and family, who have made no secret of their dislike for her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil. Haynes has been described as a “clean-cut mummy’s boy from Gloucestershire” — the opposite to self-confessed drug addict Fielder-Civil. And Amy Winehouse’s mom say she’s “thrilled” wither daughter’s London home.
Janis Winehouse (Amy’s mom) said:
“I’d spoken to Alex a couple of times over the phone, but this was the first time I’d actually met him.
“He’s a lovely boy — gentle and sweet. He really looked after Amy popping out to buy cigarettes, papers, anything she wanted.
“He works for her manager so their relationship was professional to begin with but if they’ve made something of it, I’m thrilled.
“Blake has sent her down the wrong path — drugs and self-harm. She needs a man she can depend on, who can look after her.
“I’m praying Alex is that man.”
But are mom’s instincts right about Alex? Friends of the 24-year-old say he is fiercely ambitious and his geeky appearance hides a love of raucous partying.
One supposed friend of Alex told the UK Mirror:
“I’m shocked he’s ended up with Amy but more surprised by talk of him being a good influence.
“He’s into clubbing and everything that goes with it. He knows how to have a good time, put it that way.
“The other thing that motivates him is money. He always said he would do anything to get rich and he would love to be famous too.”
Several questionable pictures of Alex have also emerged. One, on social website Facebook, captioned “Alex tripping”, shows him stripped to the waist at a drug-felled Thai beach party as he dances with his eyes half-shut. In another picture, he swigs from a bottle in a Canadian bar.
While all this drama goes on Amy Winehouse is still a mess and now her dad Mitch, is so alarmed at her state that he has been said to be hoping to have her forcibly committed to a mental institution for evaluation. Mitch Winehouse is convinced it is the only way to save his daughter from killing herself with drugs. Well eventually it was the only thing that worked for Britney!
