Doh! ‘The Simpsons’ return to Venezuela television

‘The Simpsons’ animated show has returned to TV in Venezuela. The cartoon was pulled from its 11am time slot earlier this month because the show was judged as not suitable for children (violated regulations to protect children) or some BS. Instead it was replaced with “Baywatch Hawaii,”featuring scantily clad lifeguards, which is somehow deemed more appropriate viewing for children? Aye Carumba! Get those young girls started early wanting breast implants.
A spokesidiot for station Televen told The Associated Press that Bart and friends will be shown Wednesdays at 7 p.m. every week. The station is still facing fines and could be taken off the air for up to 3 days as punishment for keeping the show in the morning after being warned. Somehow this twisted moral logic by our not so friendly neighbors in Venezuela makes me feel a lot closer to them. Perhaps we’re not so different from them after all.
