TMZ is reporting that Cameron Diaz’s father died suddenly early this morning. He was said to be a 58-year-old man in “terrific health,” but recently developed the flu which then turned into pneumonia. Emilio was a second generation Cuban-American who worked as a foreman for an oil company. He had a bit part in his daughter’s film “There’s Something About Mary” as “Jailbird.”
Cameron is currently filming her upcoming flick “My Sister’s Keeper.” A source on the set tells us production on the film was shut down today. Our condolences to the Diaz family.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Diaz. It must be a shock to Cameron to loose her father at such a young age. 58 is now the 30s! My prayers are with her and the family.
I lost my mother this year and she was 87 and that was a shock to me. Never, never is it the right time to loose a parent.
I am very saddened to hear of Cameron losing her dad so young. Unfortunately in our pathetic healthcare system, the dotors are so cognizant of their lawsuit hapy society that they over medicate and use antibiotitcs before they know what bugs they are treating. The result///you have someone whose immune system is suppressed leaving them open to further assault and death to the body. My sincere condolences to the Diaz family . I hope that in the future of our healthcare system, the consciences of these ill trained and neglie=gent physicians who treat people based on tests and book smarts, learn to assess their patients and diligently seek out the answers before they use pharmaceuticals to cover their derrieres.
It was indeed a shocking news! He was a great person. My grandfather used to go fishing with him in his school days and when I told him about his departure he was so shocked! My condolences with her too. May his soul rest in peace!
