Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford breakup via texting
When Carrie Underwood was cornered by the press at a recent event she revealed that Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford broke up with her via text message. “We broke up over text, so it’s like ‘peace out,’” Underwood, 25, told Extra at the Idol Gives Back taping in Hollywood Sunday. Who sent the first text, one wonders?
Carrie said they hadn’t spoken in awhile (and obviously still haven’t), but it’s “no big deal” and she doesn’t have bad feelings for him (yeah sure).
Their relationship “just didn’t work,” Underwood said, “and we both knew it didn’t work and [there are] no hard feelings at all whatsoever.”
Perhaps no hard feelings but that doesn’t mean that things are friendly between them either.
Back in “the old days” the cowardly, impersonal way to breakup with someone or wiggle out of any bad situation was to leave them a voice mail. “There I did it, free!” But of course you have to call when the other party isn’t there to pick up or your screwed. To me text messaging is even more impersonal. No speeches to make, just “over an out baby”.
