Oddly enough Mel Gibson and Britney Spears have dinner together

Strangely enough, Mel Gibson and Britney Spears had dinner together last night.  The pair met for a meal at nearby Romanov Restaurant and Lounge on Ventura Blvd., where they dined on some high-priced Russian grub for about two hours. So what brought these two unlikely celebrities to break bread together. The connection might be high-powered L.A. attorney Blair Berk, who not only counts Brit’s dad Jamie Spears as a client, but also infamously saved Mel from drowning in hot legal doo-doo after his 2006 DUI arrest. 

Supposedly Mel wanted to give Britney a little advice on how to handle the negative press. A source said, “He understands what she’s going through. And he certainly has advice on how to not let it destroy your life.”

I think I just choked on my borscht. There might also have been a recruiting element to Mel’s talk with Britney but probably not for a movie role. Speculation is that Mel might also be trying to get Brit to attend his super-conservative church in Malibu.
