Kate Bosworth the beer-drinking party girl?

Kate Bosworth is on the cover of the April issue of Marie Claire (on stands on March 18). she’s in promotion mode for 21, so you’ll likely be seeing Kate on talk shows and lots of red carpet. We all know she’s a movie star and a fashion icon. But we get a glimpse of her fun side, which includes practical jokestering, beer-drinking party girl:
On her upbringing:
“I’m an only child, and I think I was raised as a tomboy in a certain sense. My father was outside playing sports with me all the time. One of the first things he did was teach me how to throw. Whenever you see someone blonde, people immediately think she was a cheerleader or a sorority sister or something. And I was never that type.”
On her love relationships:
“Orlando and I were both in the public eye. So this [current] relationship [with model James Rousseau] has been a little easier that way. And I feel like I’m in a different stage of my life, to be honest. With Orlando, we were younger.”
On feeling washed up and old at 25, because of Hollywood’s obsession with age:
The Blue Crush actress claims she suffered a “quarter-century” crisis when she reached the landmark on 2 January (08). She says, “Whenever I said before that I was 21 or 22, everyone would say, ‘Oh, see, you’re so young.’ And all of a sudden, you hit 25, and people say, ‘Oh, right, uh, OK.’ And you’re like, ‘Uh, what do you mean?’”
21 producer Dana Brunetti on Kate’s practical jokes:
“I was at lunch. And some of the makeup artists, her mother and she were at the table across from us. They kept screwing around — whispering to each other, looking at me. I knew they were trying to f*** with me. Then Kate came over and was leaning over my table. I really wasn’t paying attention to her. And she kept saying, ‘Dana look, Dana look, Dana, hey Dana.’ So I turned around, and I’m like, ‘What?’ And she’s like, ‘Look.’ Her nipple was sticking out her shirt right in my face.”
Kate’s 21 co-star Josh Gad on partying with Kate:
“Kate can drink anyone under the table. Get a couple in her, and she’s definitely a very fun and crazy girl.
We went out on St. Patrick’s Day. Not only did she pick the place, but she picked the rowdiest place. And it’s like, ‘OK, she’s one of us! Let’s get s***-faced!’ But Kate is always one step ahead of you. She had a blast, and everybody was just enamored of the fact that there’s a superstar singing and dancing and going nuts. But she was also the first one to be like, ‘OK, I’m out of here.’”
