Secret couple Josh Hartnett and Helena Christensen split up

Missed this one yesterday. Reportedly actor Josh Hartnett and model turned photographer/boutique owner Helena Christensen have broken up after many months of hush-hush dating.

Their split came “within the last week,” a source told the New York Daily News.

The now split couple were last seen furniture shopping together, mid-February, at Vitra in the Meatpacking District.

The Danish delight and the “30 Days of Night” star had been friends for years before taking it to the next level in late spring 2007. The two were first spotted out as a couple at the T in the Park music festival in the U.K. last July and had been an item ever since. Friends say the origins of their transition from friends to lovers ironically began when the iconic supermodel tried to set Josh up with Rosario Dawson, and he boldly told Helena he’d rather date her.

Hartnett has previously and famously dated Scarlett Johansson, while Christensen has a son Mingus with ex Norman Reedus.
