American Idol contestant David Hernandez sings and strips
Another American Idol season, another contestant’s stained past uncovered? David Hernandez‚ a 24-year-old Idol finalist from Glendale, Arizona, reportedly once worked as a stripper at Dick’s Cabaret, appearing fully nude and giving lap dances to the club’s gay clientele. According to club manager Bryan Gordy, Hernandez steadily worked at the club for three years until September 30, 2007. It’s not clear whether Hernandez’s history as a stripper could disqualify him from the competition. In 2003, finalist Frenchie Davis was dismissed because of her appearance on an adult Web site; but last year, Antonella Barba remained in the competition after racy photos of her surfaced on the Internet. Hernandez is set to perform with the other male contestants on tonight’s show, so we’re guessing the show will go on.
