Eva Mendes escapes rehab to present at Independent Spirit Awards

Eva Mendes made a surprise appearance at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday to present the Best Supporting Actress prize with Aaron Eckhart (won by Cate Blanchett). The rain-soaked event marked Mendes’ first public appearance since she checked into rehab for an undisclosed issue in January (08). The actress, however refused to walk the red carpet at the event, to avoid engaging reporters and left without discussing her personal problems.
