Rapper Eminem aka Marshall Mathers, is preparing to publish his memoirs in a new book, it has been announced. Eminem who starred in his semi-autobiographical movie 8 Mile, alongside Kim Basinger in 2002 – is set to publish his life story, complete with photographs, hand-drawn sketches, lyrics and journal notes, perhaps later this year.

The book, entitled Eminem: The Way I Am, is scheduled to hit shelves in the U.K. this October, according to Ian Preece, a senior commissioning editor at Orion Books.

But Eminem’s camp said the project was still a work-in-progress, and blasted the London-based publisher for leaking the news.  a rep told MTV News:

“There is no firm release date scheduled, although it is anticipated to arrive in the latter part of this year. It’s unfortunate that someone who does not have intimate knowledge of [the project] felt compelled to jump the gun on announcing it.”

The 35-year-old Eminem has been keeping a low profile following his recovery from a bout of pneumonia earlier this year. Some reports claimed that the formerly Slim Shady had ballooned to more than 200 pounds.
