Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman keep it friendly

Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman have been joined at the hip for the past few weeks, because they’re promoting their new film, “The Other Boleyn Girl.”  It looks like they are making the best of the situation and enjoying each other’s company. The two beauties who played sisters on screen and were not afraid to show it as Natalie leaned in to lock lips with Johansson. Scarlett  looked more than happy to be the object of Natalie’s affections, showing off her cleavage in a 50′s inspired fuscia-coloured dress, while the brunette opted for a black lace number.

It comes as a surprise to some but they actually do like each other. Natalie recently said :

“People keep asking if the rivalry was real but it was the opposite because we just liked each other so much… It was such a rare opportunity to work with an actress my age who I much admire.”

In other Natalie Portman news, she has recently signed a two-year deal with Participant Productions and is set to direct her first movie, and it will be in Hebrew.

The Israeli-born actress will make her debut at the helm of a film version of Amos Oz’s book ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness.’

The book is a memoir of growing up in Jerusalem in the 1940s and 1950s.

“I’ve been reading Oz since high school, and when I read his biography I just sort of saw it,” Portman, 26, told W magazine.

Meanwhile not to forget the multi-talented Scarlett Johansson. She is set to record her debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head, a tribute to blues balladeer Tom Waits.  More details here.
