Star magazine has put a new spin to the old story of why Britney Spears and Adnan Ghalib took a quick trip to Mexico.  It wasn’t to shop, buy cheap drugs or even for Adnan to get a quickie divorce as speculated (well maybe the last one).

According to Star, Britney Spears and Adnan Ghalib actually secretly married. The fact that Adnan is still legally married to AzLynn Berry is also sort of explained. Star Magazine editor Candace Trunzo told Gatecrasher:

“Our source on this was not in Rosarito Beach at the ceremony, but is very familiar with the fact that [wedding] documents exist.”

More interestingly, the mag says Spears gave Ghalib $250,000 to grease AzLynn’s willingness for a quickie divorce. Britney allegedly passed this expenditure off to her lawyers, who had imposed a grand-a-day spending limit, as cash she needed for a new Mercedes.  But actually she was trying to buy herself a new man!  Did Adnan get this money and pocket the dough? And then go through the wedding anyway with a less then clear minded Britney?  If the wedding really happened, those wedding documents will show up sooner or later.  And without Adnan getting a divorce first the marriage will be null and void anyway.  Breaking Britney’s shortest marriage record of 55 hours with childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander.
