Amy Winehouse’s visa request denied

Amy Winehouse will not perform at the Grammy Awards this weekend because the United States has denied her entry into the country.
The Outside Organization, which represents the troubled retro-soul sensation, said Winehouse’s request for a visa had been turned down by the U.S. Embassy in London.
“Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London,” it said in an e-mail statement.
“Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery.”
Although Winehouse won’t be at the Grammys in person, she, is up for six awards, for her breakthrough album “Back to Black.” Hopefully this personal setback will not discourage Amy from continuing her rehabilitation from drug abuse.
