As we reported this weekend here, a tentative agreement between striking writers and Hollywood moguls looks likely to be announced sometime this week. As the two sides apparently bridged the gap over the key issue of payment for projects distributed on the internet. With optimism in the air sources at ABC are saying that production of Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Brothers & Sisters will likely start to shoot four or five episodes in March with the intention to air in April/May.
First season shows that have already been awarded full-season pickups i.e. (Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, Samantha Who?) will likely restart production over the summer ahead of a fall relaunch. CBS, NBC and Fox are likely to follow the same pattern, with established shows returning in the spring; newer ones held till fall. The plan for heavily serialized shows like Heroes, Lost, and 24 remains undetermined.
