Kiefer Sutherland’s jail term is over. He was let out the front door at 12:05 a.m Monday morning, having served his entire sentence. 

In jail for his second DUI conviction and for violating probation, Sutherland, 41, spent his birthday, Christmas and New Year’s at the Los Angeles-area facility.  Kiefer apparently didn’t use his celebrity staus for any special priviledges and in fact lived a spartan existense.

“Throughout his stay, he never griped, never complained,”  “He never wanted preferential treatment from the get go, and we respect him for that,” a Prison Officer said.

Sutherland must still complete an 18-month alcohol education program and attend weekly therapy sessions for six months, as part of the conditions of his remaining five years of probation.
