Charlize Theron has a ‘Blonde’ moment

Charlize Theron, was being interviewed in the UK to promote “In The Valley Of Elah”, her first film since taking a backpacking trip with her boyfriend, demonstrated a confused grasp of geography when discussing her travels. Theron, who actually has a reputation as one of Hollywood’s more intelligent actresses, had one of those embarrassing moments you kind of cringe about.
The South African actress waxed poetic about her visit to the Turkish city Budapest, except Budapest is in Hungary. She had meant to say Istanbul, which she visited with her boyfriend actor Stuart Townsend while the pair “backpacked” around the world.
The 32-year-old Oscar winning actress said:
“We went to Turkey. When we got over there, we rented a car and we drove all the way to Budapest. By the time we got to Budapest it was like the Cannes Film Festival, I’d never seen anything like it. She described buying Turkish carpets, visiting a Turkish bazaar and the lavish attention she received in “Budapest”.
Miss Theron had actually arrived in the middle of the Istanbul International Film Festival. I personally had a similar experience with mistakenly thinking I was in Belgium when I was in fact in neighboring Luxembourg so I feel Charlize’s pain a bit. However Turkey is about 661 miles from Budapest so it was a slightly different situation. And the title of this post is not meant to stereotype blondes, for those looking to get outraged about something.
