Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds split over prenup
While there was speculation that the newlyweds argued and even the inlaws didn’t get along, but the smoking gun to Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds split might have been about the money, specifically a prenuptial agreement.Murphy ceremonially tied the knot with Edmonds in a New Year’s Day ‘spiritual’ wedding on a South Pacific paradise island in front of their families.
However the couple were never married legally and split just two weeks after their tropical nuptials on the private island near Bora Bora, announcing that they have  ’decided to remain friends.’
Now sources are saying that Murphy insisted on a prenuptial agreement:
 ”When it came down to the legal marriage, Tracey wouldn’t sign a prenup,” a pal of Edmonds told the New York Post. If true then the bottom line is, Eddie didn’t have enough faith in the marriage working to risk half his cash.
Regardless of how crazy Eddie is these days & the rumors about his being gay or bi, I think he’s 100% right about having a prenup. No one in their right mind with that kind of money should get married without it. It’s one thing to build it together (as in both starting with nothing), but another to come with it (and he has waaaay more than she does), he should protect his assets. The deal is…before Tracy married Babyface (and she had nothing), he (stupidly) married her without a prenup because he was so in love. Don’t be mistaken, she talks about her businesses with her mother, she was working a regular job trying to have a real estate business (local) and met Babyface through the intent to audition for his Whip Appeal video (you know at that point he was already rich). She got sick & couldn’t audition But contacted him later to meet with him & started dating him. What I can’t believe is that they didn’t discuss all of this before their fairlytale (not real) wedding even took place. I’m glad he stood his ground. After all his comedy skits about HALF, she should have known he wouldn’t get legally married without a prenup. When he did Raw and talked about his great virgin girlfriend and the half skit, he later dumped her for the same reason, she refused to sign a prenup. When you hear Tracy talk about not receiving alimony it’s because there was no prenup and she gets half of Babyface’s money automatically. People are coming down on Eddie about he must not have enough faith in the marrriage that it will last. The same can be said of Tracy. If she’s so sure it will last why do you care about signing?!?!?! Starting to sound like a gold digger.
As much as I dislike Eddie Murphy and more and more disliking this Tracey Man Hopping Edmonds, I do agree that a prenup is important.
