Kiefer Sutherland jail term is nearly over. Monday morning, he’ll be let out the front door just like everyone else, having served his entire sentence.

In jail for his second DUI conviction and for violating probation, Sutherland, 41, he spent his birthday, Christmas and New Year’s at the Los Angeles-area facility.  Kiefer apparently didn’t use his celebrity staus for any special priviledges and in fact lived a spartan existense.

“Throughout his stay, he never griped, never complained,”  “He never wanted preferential treatment from the get go, and we respect him for that.” a Prison Officer said.

Sutherland is housed alone in an 8 by 10 foot cell, but is not confined to it. Even so he made few phone calls and largely kept to himself, having little contact with other inmates. The 24 star did not include any family or friends on his visitor request list. (His doctor and lawyer were the only other approved visitors). Thus far, Sutherland was only visited once by his attorney.

Sutherland worked on laundry duty, and occasionally did clean-up work, such as emptying trash bins and mopping up. Sutherland brought only two books with him and although he was sent tons of fan mail it was rerouted to his publicist.
