What Britney Spears can expect on Monday’s custody hearing

This upcoming Monday’s child custody hearing could be one of the most important days in Britney Spears’ life. Although reportedly she is not legally required to make an appearance in court, it’s likely Brit needs to face the judge to explain herself if she’s got any hope of getting her kids back. If she doesn’t show, or is uncooperative, it could be curtains for her custody case. However if the popwreck can keep it together for the court appearance Britney’s lawyer is telling PageSix.com that Commissioner Scott Gordon is expected to reinstate Brit’s visitation with very limited and brief visits. The limited visitation would be for a maximum of two-hour visits, held three times a week conducted in the presence of a court-appointed monitor. A source familiar with the case says it’s very unlikely that the judge will strip Britney of all contact with the children.
That’s surprising considering last week’s dramatic three-hour standoff in which Britney barricaded herself in her master bathroom with her 1-year-old son, Jayden James, and later wound up in the hospital on a 72-hour psych hold. A police Child Endangering Report has been filed about the events of that night that is said to be “very damaging” to Britney’s case. Kaplan has also subpoenaed police officers who were on the scene to testify on Monday because the police report only is considered hearsay. Despite speculation that Gordon might order that Spears get psychiatric treatment, the source says he has no jurisdiction to do so.
