Actress Courtney Thorne-Smith delivers a baby boy

Actress Courtney Thorne-Smith and husband Roger Fishman brought their first child a son, Jacob Emerson Fishman, into the world.

Smith gave birth Friday at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Nicole Richie was also in labor. (Comedian David Alan Grier and his wife also welcomed a girl the same day.)

“Mother and dad are thrilled,” the rep says. “They say the baby is absolutely gorgeous.”

Thorne-Smith, 40, and Fishman, 47, were married on New Year’s Day 2007. They met on an airplane in 2004.

The actress is known her role on According to Jim and past parts on Melrose Place and Ally McBeal.
