Marlon Wayans to star in ‘G.I. Joe’ Movie

 

Marlon Wayans has signed on to Paramount’s upcoming movie, G.I. Joe. Wayans will be cast as Ripcord, the leader of the military unit. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Killshot, 3rd Rock From the Sun) is also in negotiations to join the project, based on Hasbro’s U.S. soldier action figure. Shooting is scheduled to start next month for an Aug. 7, 2009 release.  War-themed story is set 10 years in the future.  The Stephen Sommers-helmed film is set to start shooting next month in Los Angeles. Rachel Nichols, Sienna Miller, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Said Taghmaoui have already joined the cast.

Marlon who most recently starred in Little Man is now working with brothers Shawn and Keenen Ivory Wayans to develop a cop action spoof for Paramount .
