Britney Spears’ parents will reportedly appear on Dr Phil

Britney Spears’ parents are expected to appear on talk show Dr Phil on Tuesday but their troubled daughter has refused to take part.
The television psychologist warned that Spears was in “dire need” of medical help after he visited her in hospital on Saturday. Dr. Phil’s attempted visit with Britney Spears appears to be somewhat disingenuous. Apparently Dr. Phil got Brit’s parents blessing to go to the hospital. It had been thought though that he was trying to persuade the wacked out star to go on his nationally syndicated program this week. Can you say ‘wolf in sheeps clothing’.
Trouble was Britney didn’t even know he was coming and she wasn’t to keen to see him. When he walked into her room, it’s reported, a blindsided Britney walked out but eventually came back.
Sources say Phil tried speaking with Spears for about 15 minutes, not an hour as Dr. Phil’s press release states but she wanted none of it. It’s reported Dr. Phil was doing almost all the talking. As for walking with her to the car on her way out again, as his release also states, that appears to be false as well. Did Dr. Phil cause Britney to decide to get released and leave the hospital? Hard to tell. But if the reports are true that mom and dad Spears will be taping Dr. Phil’s show Monday for Tuesday broadcast, it seems to follow that Dr Phil went to the hospital with the intention to get Brit on the show for a little family intervention. That would have been quite a coup for Dr. Phil. However maybe Dr. Phil can do some good, and focus on getting Brit’s parents to get the counseling they need instead of building them up as ‘great’ parents that they obviously aren’t.
Update: Brit’s dad, Jamie, has officially bailed on Dr. Phil, he wants nothing to do with the intervention show. We’re told it’s still uncertain whether Brit’s mommy dearest, Lynne, will appear.
