Britney Spears is released from Hospital!

Posted on January 5th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Britney Spears is released from Hospital!Unbelievable Britney Spears has sprung herself from Cedars-Sinai hospital today (Saturday).  Apparently Brit threw a tantrum in her bed and demanded to check herself out, and the hospital finally obliged.  How they didn’t see her as still being a danger to herself is beyond me?

Reportedly the episode was precipitated by a visit from Dr. Phil McGraw, the TV shrink or is that the guy that plays a shrink on TV?  Dr. Phil a friend of the Spears family had recently spoke out in defense of Britney’s mom, ‘Lynne the parenting expert’. Perhaps Dr. Phil told Britney she was okay as well?  Actually I sort of doubt that, but I needed to vent a little.  But if Brit-Brit actually appears on Dr. Phil’s show this Monday, which will focus on Britney, I am going to be pissed.

So,  how could Britney have been released so quickly, given that she had been declared a danger to herself and others? According to TMZ’s sources it is Cedars-Sinai hospital’s policy ( and the policy of other California hospitals) to evaluate whether the “danger” has subsided at any point during the 72-hour hold. Cedars cannot hold her against her will so if doctors determine she is no longer a danger, they must let her go,  plain and simple. Sources also say the hospital released her without notifying any of the principles involved including the lawyers in the ongoing drama.  So much for Britney getting the care she needs.
