Miley Cyrus enjoys being a teen role model

Pop star Miley Cyrus loves being a role model for girls across the world because she is confident and comfortable with who she is. The 15-year-old Hannah Montana sensation explains that although she has the help of a stylist when it comes to choosing clothes, she will not be forced into skimpy, revealing or overtly sexual outfits like other teen stars. Wit a thousand outfits to choose from, she picks clothes that will get a thumbs-up from girls and their parents.
She tells U.S. talkshow queen Oprah Winfrey:
“I say what I’m comfortable in and what I like and nothing that’s too out there. I like to look kind of like what girls would want to look up to, and their moms and dads will say, ‘Hey, that’s cool. That’s different.’ ” “I look way young, and that’s the way that’s more comfortable for me.”
Cyrus talked about how her family and friends, including dad Billy Ray Cyrus, has kept the young star grounded during her rise to fame and also mentioned church as a source of strength. Close friends include her Hannah Montana costar, Emily Osment, as well as Ashley Tisdale. And who does Miley look up to? Hilary Duff. “Because she’s someone that I got to watch, and I’m like, ‘Hey, she’s a normal girl,’ ” she explains.
