This seems to be the in thing to do lately. KISS bassist Gene Simmons is the latest celebrity to sign up for a guest role on the on the Emmy Award-nominated series TV show UGLY BETTY.
The Kiss frontman is rumoured to be playing the father of Mode magazine receptionist Amanda, but has refused to confirm exactly what his role will entail.
He says, “I’m shooting Ugly Betty - not the character, the show. Can’t tell you just yet who I’m playing or what it’s about.
“But it might give you a chuckle.”

Simmons has been doing the rounds on the TV circuit lately. In addition to the Ugly Betty spot, he’s a contestant on the upcoming celebrity addition of The Apprentice, and also stars in his own reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

Victoria Beckham made a high-profile cameo in Ugly Betty in November, while Lindsay Lohan is rumoured to be in talks to appear. Other stars to have graced the series include Katherine McPhee, Salma Hayek and Project Runway’s Tim Gunn.
