According to the National Enquirer, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have turned a reluctant neighbour into a new friend after saving his life.
The singer and and his girlfriend came to the aid of an elderly man living in their New York apartment block after he clutched his chest and collapsed  as he stepped out of an elevator.
Minnillo called emergency services while Nick grabbed the old man’s keys and ran to get his angina medicine.
Lachey was able to feed the man his pill, and the couple stayed with on until paramedics arrived to take him to hospital.
Ironically, the man was among those who opposed Lachey and Minnillo’s move into the condo, citing worries about the paparazzi who follow the couple everywhere.

Alicia Keys brought an early Christmas present to Japan promoting her new Album “As I Am” at the Marunouchi Building in Tokyo.

The 26-year-old singer appeared at a Tokyo office building and sang a few songs from the new album, and wish a crowd of several hundred people a happy holiday season with a three-story-tall Christmas tree behind her.

“My new name is Alicia Trees,” she joked.

“As I Am,” released Nov. 13, has risen to the top of the Japanese charts.

Keys said the album’s success shows her music has universal appeal.

“I want to reach all kinds of listeners. It means a lot to me that people from all places can appreciate the music,” she said. “I can’t wait to come back for a big tour.”

Keys said she plans to spend the holidays back home in the United States.

“Christmas is always special for me,” she said. “I like to have a big meal with my family.”

Lindsay Lohan have claimed that she is still drinking despite her spell in rehab. according to ‘friends’.

Lindsay allegedly stumbled at a Thanksgiving dinner last week and had a drink or 2.

A source told the New York Daily News:

“She has been drinking a little bit.

“For Lindsay, her real problem was drugs, not alcohol. In the past, it wasn’t the drinking that was the problem - it was the heavy drug use.

“The drug use was way more intense than her party drinking. As long as she isn’t doing drugs, she’s okay.”

Of course everyone knows that is exactly the trap that substance abusers fall into.  Lindsay recently checked out of the Cirque Lodge rehab center, and also spent a  84 minutes in prison for her 2007 DUI arrests so I guess she has paid her debt to society.

Lohan’s representatives have denied the allegations.

Supermodel Elle Macpherson 44, and international rock star Bryan Adams 48, are quietly dating. 

Adams recently launched an exhibition of new photographic portraits, called Modern Muses, in The Hospital in Covent Garden. The bash also launched the BlackBerry Women & Technology Awards.  In the exhibition Bryan has photographed some of the most inspiring women in Britain, including actress Anne-Marie Duff, singer Annie Lennox and designer Vivienne Westwood.  After the exhibition Bryan threw a private Mexican-themed party at his Chelsea home, which Elle attended.  

The couple were seen enjoying a passionate kiss at the private party when they thought nobody was looking”. 

A source said: “They were all over each other, flirting outrageously and they couldn’t keep their hands or eyes off each other.”,the source added.

Elle, nicknamed “The Body”, and Bryan were trying to keep things top secret - because it’s a new relationship and they have friends way before the romance blossomed.   ”Despite the height difference they make a cute couple.”

Russell Crowe has come to the rescue for Universal and is in final negotiations to replace Brad Pitt in “State of Play,” saving the studio from having the political thriller shut down.

Pitt pulled out of the movie last week, after expressing concerns with the script, while the studio, was adamant about going ahead with the script they had. Meetings with the movie’s director, Kevin Macdonald, didn’t change Brad’s mind and he dropped out from the movie.

Enter Russel Crowe, who will now star alongside Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Jason Bateman and Robin Wright Penn. He will play a political consultant-turned-journalist who heads a newspaper’s murder investigation involving a fast-rising politician (Norton).

Crowe has turned into something of a favorite for Universal, for whom he stars in “American Gangster”, “Cinderella Man” and “A Beautiful Mind” for the studio.

Macdonald (”The Last King of Scotland”) spent the weekend in Australia wooing Crowe, who had to see if “Play” could fit into his schedule; Crowe is scheduled to also shoot Universal’s “Nottingham,” the Ridley Scott-directed reimagining of the Robin Hood story.

Antoine Walker joked that Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Marko Jaric was “overachieving.” The reference was not to the guard’s recent hot shooting, but that the native of Serbia is dating Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima.  Ouch!

The romance seems to have also elevated Jaric’s play.

 Having scored over 20 points in two straight games, Jaric smiled when told teammates had insinuated that his relationship with Lima had been a source of inspiration.

“Maybe that’s the thing, I don’t know,” Jaric said. “They can joke for now. We won, so that’s fine.”
