Drea de Matteo, the former Sopranos star and her country-music singing boyfriend Shooter Jennings welcomed, daughter Alabama Gypsy Rose Jennings, Wednesday night. ‘Alabama’ weighed in at eight pounds, three ounces.

In June, even before she knew the gender, De Matteo had a feeling she was having a girl. “I use ’she,’ because I’m getting so fat, I think it’s a girl!” she said at the time.

The 35-year-old Emmy winner and her 28-year-old beau, the son of the late country outlaw icon Waylon Jennings, announced their pregnancy in May. Alabama is the first child for the couple, who have been dating for six years.

De Matteo rose to fame—and won an Emmy—playing the ultimately doomed Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos. She followed up the dramatic stint by briefly starring as Matt Le Blanc’s sister in the mercifully short-lived Joey. She was recently seen in the independent film, “Broken English.”

Jennings a country/southern rock singer recently released his third album, The Wolf. He has also dabbled in acting, portraying his own father in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line. Jennings is also set to appear as himself in the Jan. 10 episode of CSI, alongside Jewel, and will play two songs off his new record.

In a story that will disappoint many, movie hunk Brad Pitt has vowed never to shed his clothes for a role again, because he doesn’t want to embarrass his kids. 

The actor, 43, shot to fame when he bared all in the 1991 film “Thelma and Louise,”  and showed off his naked behind in 2004 film Troy, but now insists he won’t strip off for the sake of his children.

He tells the BBC, “I don’t want to be embarrassed when my kids get old enough to see my films. I can’t see any more nude scenes.”

Pitt has four children with his partner Angelina Jolie, Maddox, 6, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 17 months. 

Well I guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.  Or perhaps he found a really great 2 for 1 sale.  But Paul McCartney apparently likes to give fancy lingerie and expensive perfume to his new loves. The aging ex-Beatle has given both Nancy Shevell and his newest flame, Rosanna Arquette, a bottle of a fragrance he enjoys and a few lacy underthings. “He has a ritual. He buys the same thing. He’s been buying a bottle of perfume and lingerie for so long, it’s predictable,” an insider told the Daily Times. “He gives it to them even before they get dinner. He’s done it with everyone he’s been with.”

It must have been a pretty nerve-wracking moment for both Paris Hilton and her humble boyfriend Alex Vaggo. The couple met with Paris’ parents Rick  and Kathy Hilton, at Medeo’s restaurant in Los Angeles, along with her younger brother Barron.

Vaggo met Paris the heiress while the two were partying at the same Vegas nightclub earlier this year.  Great fortune for the shy model and Swedish tourist since at the time he was financing his trip by working as a pizza delivery boy in Los Angeles.

Apparently things are getting more serious as the hotel heiress took Vaggo to meet her parents.  But by all accounts, it looks as if the meet and greet went just swimmingly, with Vaggo receiving warm embraces from parents Kathy and Rick Hilton.

Perhaps Paris has a goal in mind. Now that Nicole Richie is pregnant, Hilton says she’s hoping their offspring will be second-generation BFFs.

“Nicole and I have been playing together since we were two years old,” she said at the Nissan Live Sets One Year Anniversary Party. “I was just telling her, ‘I want a baby so that our babies can play together.’”

Perhaps further evidence that American Pie star career is heading in the wrong direction. 

Tara Reids is apparently going to dress up as a prostitute (that is to say wear her normal going out clothes) and judge a wet T-shirt contest at the event at Darwin’s Discovery nightclub.   The flyer for the bash says partygoers should expect “bondage beds, fantasy, latex, porn stars, erotic dancers and a R rated very raunchy event”.  Classy. If you look closely you’ll notice the promoters can’t even spell ‘American’.

Hospitality manager Guy Dunne said: “It’s a night like your ‘pimps and prostitutes’ or sleaze balls, and it’s just a night of less is best. “We thought Tara Reid would be a great choice. It’s a very naughty night and an opportunity to put your inhibitions down.” “I believe Tara Reid and her people were very enthusiastic to come here.”

Reid joins Bessie Bardot, Big Brother winners and the Fat Pizza crew as previous hosts of the night. Tara, once one of Hollywood’s most popular leading ladies recently likely lost any shot at returning to tv show Scrubs when show creator Bill Lawrence said Reid was his least favorite guest star seems to be getting all the wrong kind of publicity.  But hey a girls got to work!

Curtains up! Broadway producers reached a deal with striking stagehands late on Wednesday, ending more than two weeks of a work stoppage that has brought the curtain down across New York’s theater district.

Theater producers said that performances would resume last night, the finale of a damaging strike that began on Nov. 10 and has cost the city millions of dollars in lost revenues.

“The contract is a good compromise that serves our industry. What is most important is that Broadway’s lights will once again shine brightly,” Charlotte St. Martin, head of the League of American Theatres and Producers, said in a statement.

“The people of Broadway are looking forward to returning to work, giving the theater-going public the joy of Broadway, the greatest entertainment in the world,” said James Claffey, president of stagehands’ union Local One.

The strike had turned the lights out at some 27 Broadway theaters and left disappointed ticket holders arriving at theaters to find doors closed and picket lines set up outside.

Only one show resumed during the strike, when a judge ordered the theater showing Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas to reopen because only the theater’s landlord and not the show’s producers were involved in the dispute.

Producers complained they were forced to hire an unnecessarily large number of stagehands, often to perform minor duties, while the unions accused the theaters of trying to make cutbacks.

An earlier round of negotiations over the weekend of Nov. 17 broke down when stagehands rejected compromise proposals put forward by producers.

The two sides met again on Sunday, with talks running through the night into Monday and again on Tuesday.

It was the third stoppage on Broadway in 30 years. The last, a strike by musicians in 2003, lasted four days at an estimated cost to theater producers and other businesses of several million dollars.

This year’s strike was thought to have been especially damaging since it closed down some of Broadway’s most profitable shows over the lucrative Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Starpulse has reported that surfer due and casanova Kelly Slater supposedly has a new love - Kirsten Dunst.  The couple was supposedly spotted dining together at West Hollywood restaurant Ago on November 19. A fellow diner tells American publication Life & Style, “They were flirting a lot, smiling and giggling. They were having a fun time, and there was definite chemistry. It looked like they were getting to know each other. She was into him and she made it quite clear they wanted to be left alone. Kirsten was hanging on Kelly’s every word.”

Slater, an extreme sports icon has made a name for himself in 2007 after hooking up with celebrity exes Cameron Diaz and Bar Rafaeli. Diaz took off to Hawaii to spend time with Slater after she split from Justin Timberlake at Christmas and the surfing hunk was spotted romancing model Rafaeli in her native Israel before news of her split from Leonardo DiCaprio hit the headlines.
The problem with this report is nobody asked Kelly Slater and he claims he has not even met the actress.  He told TMZ.com today, “I have no idea what that’s about. I’ve never met her my whole life.” 

I hate when that happens!

Katie Holmes broke out a new hairdo while accompanying her husband Tom Cruise at the 59th annual Bambi Awards in Duesseldorf, Germany, Thursday.

Cruise won an award for his daring to take risks in his films, including his latest flick, Valkyrie, which centers on the failed Operation Valkyrie to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

“Tom Cruise is making an international public familiar with a story that has never before been the theme of a major Hollywood production: the German resistance against the Third Reich,” the competition jury said in a statement.

I don’t know about Tom’s daring but Katie is on the edge with this new hairdo or wig?  I give it a thumbs down.
