Amy Winehouse’s humiliating day

Published on November 16, 2007 at 7:15 AM

Amy Winehouse’s spokesman said the singer had had a particularly hard day on Wednesday (in reference to her bombing concert performance) after visiting her husband in prison for the first time and that was true.   When she visited her husband Blake Fielder-Civil in prison, the officials were obliged to ask Amy to undress herself. That is, ‘undress her bee hive’. They had no other means of checking for concealed weapons.  That wasn’t sufficient to satisfy the jailors. Amy was asked to comb her hair with her fingers to shake out any concealed objects.  It was that bad.

The spokeman added it was completely Winehouse’s decision to go on stage as she knew so many people had paid to see her.  So Amy went on with the show but was obviously struggling and was booed by fans on the first night of her UK tour in Birmingham.   During the show, the 24-year-old told the crowd: “To them people booing, wait ’til my husband gets out of incarceration. And I mean that.” Some fans have contacted the venue and tour promoter to ask for refunds. The tour is due to continue as planned on Friday night in Glasgow.
