The Tom Cruise ‘nobody likes him’ rumor

Published on November 11, 2007 at 7:50 AM

We covered Tom Cruise being honored at “the Museum of the Moving Image dinner” recently here.  There has been some after effects from that dinner based on who didn’t show up to honor Tom. Meryl Streep and Robert Redford had worked with Tom on ‘Lions For Lambs‘  but yet failed to lend him their support.  The American Museum of Moving Image honored Tom in a tribute and his peers were not present to congratulate him nor did they send in the customary  ‘sorry I couldn’t attend but I just want to say’ video recording. It was reported that while Tom was enthusiastic to promote himself and his movie in interviews, his director, Robert Redford, wanted to approve of certain interviews only. Meryl Streep, Tom’s co-star in the movie, “Lions for Lambs“, was said to shun Tom and his efforts at self-promotion.  Tom was totally clueless on his effects on people around him.   In any case “Lions for Lambs” is going to be problematic no matter who likes whom based on the reviews.
