Published on November 1, 2007 at 2:09 PM

Sorry to see this news.   Martina Hingis has retired from tennis for the second time after admitting she is under investigation for failing a drugs test at Wimbledon this year.

Hingis released a statement this evening in which she admits the returned positive results for cocaine in two urine tests but showed negative in a hair test.

Martina categorically denies taking any banned substance and will not be making further comment for legal reasons.  She said the prospect of a long legal battle to prove her innocence has prompted her decision to retire.
