Alison Eastwood director of “Rails & Ties” Los Angeles Premiere
Posted on October 24th, 2007 by Hot MommaClint Eastwood’s daughter Alison says she knew two things when she took on the task of directing her first movie, Rails & Ties. For one thing, the 35-year-old former model and actress knew it would be challenging. For another show accepted the fact the film would be compared to her Oscar winning daddy’s films. That’s didn’t stop her welcoming his advice. “The first time I showed it to him was when we put a rough assembly together,” she says of the tearjerker starring Marcia Gay Harden and Kevin Bacon. “He came into L. A. and said, ‘I’d like to see your film.’ I said, ‘Sure, but it’s not done, but you’re welcome to.’”
After the viewing he suggested a few trims. “He gave little hints and suggestions on what he would do and couple of them were good and a couple of them I was like, ‘Well, I don’t agree with that.’ But he’s great about that because he says, ‘Take whatever works and leave the rest behind.’”
Alison fondly recalls of those early post-production days, “he was helpful in a subtle way. Ands when he saw that final version and he thought it was good he was so happy.”
On the other hand, Alison admits, “It’s always nice to make your parents proud particularly when you’re in their same field, But I’m sure though he would never say it if he was concerned.”

The story line: A deadly collision between a train and car lead to an unlikely bond between the train engineer (Kevin Bacon) and a young boy who escapes the carnage.
