Nothing Ventured For Britain’s Third To Throne

Thanks, but no thanks!
That’s the message Prince Harry is getting from the British military after he had asked to be deployed to Iraq; he won’t be allowed to go after all. After they received several threats against Harry and his unit, the Army chief of staff decided it was just too dangerous to have one whole troop put in jeopardy because of its most famous member. Keeping Harry out of Iraq may prevent a repeat of April’s kidnapping of British soldiers by the Iranian navy, although all 16 soldiers were eventually set free.
We’re sure in heaven Princess Di is resting a little easier. And at least Harry, a second lieutenant, made the offer to serve his country.
