Sarah Jessica Parker Clothes The Masses
Posted on March 15th, 2007 by Ellen
What’s new about Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest fashion venture? You can afford it! No, seriously: The artist formerly known as Carrie Bradshaw has teamed up with discount retailer Steve and Barry’s to launch “bitten,” a line of clothes which are all under $20 (unlike her trademark Manolos or Prada dresses). SJP had teamed up with the Gap before, but I don’t think she had any say in the line, just appeared in the ads. After H&M and Forever 21 made cheap trends cool again, I guess she decided she wanted a piece of the action. Maybe she was inspired by the success of Steve and Barry’s latest headliner, the “Starbury” shoe — a basketball shoe endorsed by NBA player Stephon Marbury that costs just $15. (Gone are the days of begging your parents for Air Jordans, I guess!) I’m excited to see what the “bitten” collection will look like — I’d better hop over to Steve and Barry’s and check it out.
