If my calculations are correct, Britney Spears has stayed in rehab for a whole week now. She’s even requested a whole wing of the clinic so no one will bother her. Way to stick to it, Brit!

The latest rumor (disavowed by her reps) is that the pop star has been placed on suicide watch in the clinic because of fears that she might try to harm herself. At the same time, some good news: Ex Kevin Federline cancelled the custody hearing that was supposed to be held tomorrow, so that’s one less thing she should worry about. (I believe the kids are staying with momma Lynne Spears right now.) And D-list actor turned preacher Daniel Baldwin has offered to give her advice… although really, I would go with one of the name-brand Baldwins, Alec or at least Billy.

Cheer up Britney! The sooner you finish rehab, the sooner you can be back with Sean and Ja(y)den.

A lot of commentators have their own ideas on what was missing from this year’s Oscar broadcast. I’m not sure what could have made it better, but I definitely missed seeing Scarlett Johansson on the red carpet. Laying low after the Timberlake love triangle story? Adopting an orphan? Not in rehab, right?

Obviously all of my guesses were wrong. Ms. Johansson has been in India and Sri Lanka with the charity Oxfam, visiting schools and businesses and raising awareness of poverty in southeast Asia. I’ll say this, it would have been a lot easier for her to just go to the Oscars… my admiration for her can only increase.
