Penelope’s Latest Film Makes Oscar Shortlist

We know, none of you care about foreign movies. At least feast your eyes on Penelope Cruz, whose latest movie “Volver” (To Return) is one of nine films under consideration for the Best Foreign Film Oscar. In the movie, Cruz plays a Madrid housewife with a terrible secret who’s willing to do anything to protect her daughter — and looks glamorous and gorgeous the whole time. We wish we could hate her! This photo’s from way back in April when the film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Note, that’s not her boyfriend she’s cuddling with — that’s “Volver” director (and previous Oscar winner) Pedro Almodovar. Yeah, like you care.
What is happening to this site? This was the one of the stupidest and irrelevant posts i have seen. Please get rid of this Ellen girl, no offense.
The movie was AMAZING. I have no doubt that he will win the Oscar again. Here’s my review (in Spanish, if you don’t mind):

I usually enjoy this site, but lately I have been finding certain posts..poorly presented. None of them have offended me quite this greatly however and thus I never bothered to comment. I find Ellen’s blurb to be an ignorant, degrading, and insulting generalization. She is catering to the notion of the ‘stupid American’ uninterested in anything that isn’t purely American. This is aggravating, and even deplorable. Please refrain from insulting our intelligences and making gross assumptions about your readers in the future!
