perfectly cute.
That is one of the cutest kids ever.
I understand what Madonna is saying about how she was affected by what she saw out there… But isn’t more important to work towards changing the situation in Africa so everyone can have a better quality of life than just to adopt one child at a time? Changing adoption laws isn’t the most important factor here.
I know that she was defending her reasons for adopting and that she is setting up her foundation but for such a highly publicised statement, I think it would have been more responsible of her to highlight these issues as well.
He is adorable. I can see why she fell for him, as it would take a very hard hearted person not to. I agree that it is more important to help more than one child…especially when there are so many who are sick, and without homes and families.
wow. yes of course its important to help more than one suffering child….but its also ignorant to say that saving even one child’s life is not noble. she is one woman, who does incidently discuss the issues in africa often, who made a difference in one child’s life- good for her!
It would be hard to walk away with only one…I would be taking the whole lot home. And I agree…in a sense..it’s hard to make a difference by adopting one…it makes my heart hurt to think of all those left behind waving goodbye you know? I wish more could be done in their country. My brother is over there doing humanitarian work right now and it’s just devastating over there- so much worse than what we see on TV…
none of us can save them all. but if all who are able save one then that’s the only way!
I think adoptions like this do a diservice to couples struggling for years to make an adoption happen. I don’t like that she has so much influence, just because she is a celebrity, I don’t agree w/that at all.
I lived in Africa for five years, my personal feelings are that one adoption isn’t going to make a difference - though it does bring awareness. There is just so much more which NEEDS to be done for the world’s children (I’m adpoted from the Philipines - I’m pretty sure if my folks hadn’t adpoted me, I’d be dead now)
emily- how can you say that one adoption doesn’t make a difference when you’re adopted? it made the difference between life and death for you.
“one adoption doesnt make a difference?” try telling that to the little boy she adopted who was able to get the care he needed.
I agree, I mean a difference for the rest of people trying to adopt. sorry for the confusion
