Just leave her alone
Posted on October 18th, 2006 by Hot MommaI’m sure most of you have already read that Madonna is in fact adopting a child from Malawi. Finally, after going back and forth they make an official announcement. Actually Madonna announced that they began the process several months ago but I guess they wanted to keep it quiet. What gets me is that groups are now trying to prevent it! Mind your own business!
The Human Rights Consultative Committee, a coalition of 67 organizations, launched a legal challenge Tuesday to the Malawian government decision to relax the usual ban on adoptions by foreigners and relax the requirement that prospective parents have to stay with the child for 18-24 months for assessment before the adoption is formalized.
Even the boy’s biological father wants Madonna to adopt. I guess these people have nothing better to do than try to meddle. Sure it’s great when they’re stepping in to help someone, but c’mon this is ridiculous.

Yeah, I was thinking about that while I was posting haha.. however, we don’t actually launch legal challenges to prevent celebs from wearing certain outfits for example. We just make fun of them when they do.
some people have waaayyy too much free time. why would you want to stop someone from adopting a child? especially someone with the resources madonna has? that’s ridiculous!
I agree, this is really sad. So what happens if these people win their fight? That poor baby who’s already been through so much will get shipped back to the orphanage on the next plane? They should just be glad that one kid is going to have food and shelter and instead put their time into trying to change the rules so it’s not so impossible for foreigners to adopt a kid from there. So what if Madonna is selfish and spoiled, I’d rather have her as my mom than an orphanage.
In my opinion, these clebs are adopting these babies from other countries…..What about adopting a baby from here(US)?
They (Celebs) are treating black and asian babies like they’re the latest Louis Vuitton bag…GOT TO HAVE ONE (or TWO)!!
I agree with MissJay what about the babies here?( USA ) Me and my honey tried to adopt a child from Israel, and they were like, nope. So, I decided when I do, they will be from the States.
Yea, there are many kids here in the US who need homes too, but let’s compare the chances of survival of an orphan in the US to the chances of an orphan in Africa or Asia. I would bet most orphans in Africa are lucky if they live to the age of 15, and lucky if they get even a year of education. And in my opinion, as long as they’re adopting a kid in need I really don’t care what country they feel like adopting it from!
What I find absurd is that people have the balls to judge someone else or be critical b/c they are not adopting a baby “here” SO WHAT!! How many of you have gone to the childrens home and adopted a child in the US (b/c in the US you have to wait for years to adopt a newborn..) Also the childrens homes in the US are not in deplorable condition. I am a PROUD US citizen but the borders don’t mean sh!t when the need for a clean drink of water and basic food and shelter are in question.. The US does not have one single group home lacking basic food and water. To each their own… Madonna is not responsible for the plight of ALL orphans she just fell in love with one and with his fathers blessing adopted him sheeshh..
I agree.. orphans overseas have much more horrible living conditions than orphans in this country.
Also, who cares if adopting kids has become a “trend.” If by “trend” you mean that several celebrities are adopting children, then great! The more the better! You can’t tell me that any of those kids would be better off where they came from than in the home of a celebrity here, no matter how much you may despise that celebrity.
Adopting ANY child should NEVER become a frickin TREND!!!!! That’s sounds sick and ridiculous!!!! Get a Dog…Oh, that’s already been done!
Being a celeb DOES NOT automatically make you a great parent!!!
Being in a situation everyday where I see abanded and abused (3 month old on life support due to fathers abuse), left at the daycare babies/kids…there are many Aids/HIV affected kids here who also need help…And there are MANY to chose from…That’s all.
If you read my post, I said ‘if by “trend” you mean that several celebrities are adopting children…’ everyone is throwing around the term “trend” just because several celebrities have recently adopted kids. What’s wrong with people going the adoption route more often than they did before?
No one has said that being a celebrity means you’re a good parent. Of course celebrities can be silly, flaky, self centered or dumb just like anyone else can. But until I see Madonna’s kids starving or getting diseases because they don’t get proper health care, I’m going to go ahead and assume that a baby is better off in Madonna’s house than in an orphanage in Africa.
When I’m older, I plan on looking into the possibility of adopting one of the abandoned girls in China. Are you going to scream at me for not adopting from the US, or just be happy that one more baby that was going to have a horrible life, not get an education and not have access to proper nutrition has been given a better chance? If you want to adopt a baby from the US, you can do it. Don’t yell at people to follow the rules you’ve made about which babies should be adopted.

And thanks for the tip, I’ll watch out for people who don’t care about foreign babies, and throw fits when someone adopts a kid that wasn’t born in the right country. My mom is in her 50s, and she also likes the idea of adopting a girl from China. Maybe you’re 70 and far more mature than she is?
It’s pretty clear that “Miss Jay” isn’t an adult. 1. She can’t spell, 2. She hangs out on celebrity gossip sites trying to find people she can insult, and 3. She has no idea what she’s talking about. Just my 2 cents.
