I know people can kick drug habits, they do it all the time, but he doesn't strike me as willing to do so. Besides, she shouldn't have to give him an ultimatum- he should have offered to do it himself, on his own accord. Kate's a big girl and can take care of herself- I just hope her daughter doesn't get shafted in this arrangement (or a new baby). She’s asking for trouble!
