Everyone wants their 15 minutes
Posted on October 5th, 2006 by Hot MommaTurns out Madonna did NOT adopt an African boy as previously reported. According to her spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, “It is completely inaccurate. She has not adopted.”
Madonna WAS in the country visiting orphanages but government officials spun the story into much more. Madonna is being nice about it:
Rosenberg said Madonna wasn’t bothered by the bizarre hoax because the publicity over the false report will help draw attention to the horrifying devastation in Malawi, a landlocked country in southeastern Africa.
[”It’s] fine with her - even if it’s information that’s not correct,” Rosenberg said. Madonna reportedly plans to spend at least $3 million on programs to support Malawian orphans and $1 million on a documentary about children in the desperate land.
I guess there really isn’t such a thing as “bad” publicity…

hotmomma, your blog yesterday about O-Bloom being dead was very “i want my 15 minute fame” as well. How can you post something like that without any bases? For those who missed it; because hotmomma was at least smart to remove it after an hour or so, here it what it was.
Actor Orlando Bloom died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning - October 4, 2006.
Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12).
I emailed Hotmomma about the Orlando thing cuz i hadn’t heard it anywhere else and she said the news article was emailed to her. She did some investigating to find out if it were true and it wasn’t so she took it down.

I agree, it’s no big deal - she took down the post re O-Bloom’s death as soon as she found out it wasn’t true. It’s a gossip site, not CNN. Sheesh…
(And I don’t think Hot Momma’s sold the site just yet.)
And quit bugging her about the lack of posts lately! I miss them too, but she has a life - maybe you need to get one too. =P

I am really sorry to hear that HotMomma is selling her site. I think it was totally great and for it to be done by anyone else, well it just won’t be the same.
It was HotMomma that inspired me to start my own site and HotMomma even added my site to her fave list. Crystal’s Hot Spot.

How hilarious that all negative posts about the new owners were deleted. Classic.
The “negative” comments were part of Chrystie’s goodbye post. Since she will be staying on, that post was deleted along with the comments. We recognize that change is often hard to get used to. We hope everyone stays and look forward to feedback to help us keep everything you loved about the site in the past, and also to make it better in the future.
Actually, Malawi does not allow for it’s children to be adopted by foreigners. Maybe Madonna could pull strings in this department, but it would be would be against Malawi tradition.
Gossip blogs are numerous on the web.
To make somebody stay, you need to have this little something more hotmommadrama had.
I’m not saying the new owner is a bad person or that chrystie’s better than him, no.
I’m just saying what i personally liked about this site.
The witty comments, sarcasm and cynical comments, chrystie’s touch indeed.
Now the newly named hot momma gossip is just as worthy as every others.
That’s only my opinion, folks!
