It’s Official: Sutton Pierce Federline!

Posted on September 15th, 2006 by Hot Momma

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have named their newborn son Sutton Pierce Federline, sources close to the couple tell PEOPLE.

The infant, born Tuesday at a Los Angeles hospital, now has the same initials as his big brother, Sean Preston Federline.

The boys also (almost) share a birthday – Sean Preston turned 1 on Thursday, just two days after his brother was born.

Sutton Pierce has two half-siblings as well: sister Kori, 4, and brother Kaleb, 2, his dad’s kids with actress Shar Jackson.

Geez, these kids can’t have anything to themselves. They practically share the same birthday and they have the same initials. I’m surprised their hillbilly morons didn’t just name him Sean Preston JR. LMAO!

I just don’t get how they give their first child a “normal” name and now this one gets the goofy name. They could have named him seth, sam, scott, shane, spencer (oooh spencer peirce nice ring), steven. Oh my god I just looked up Sutton and it means “town to the south”!!

Ugh, i was hoping it wasn’t going to be that. I personally don’t like the name Sutton, why not just Pierce Federline? I don’t get the need for the same initials. I love Britney and all but i don’t love the name.

Suttom is a horrible first name. I’m sure Britney will call him Pierce but what’s the point of calling your child after their middle name, just make it their first.

I actually like it, but I think the matching initials is a little kooky.

I think: it’s their children. They can name them WHATEVER they want. To all you parents out there, didn’t you hate it when people made comments against your name choices?

Well I was hoping to that she didn’t name her baby Sutton, only because my youngest son’s name is Sutton. Sutton Beck and it is a name that ROCKS YOUR ASS!!! Unfortunately white trash has now assumed the same first name. Now to be on the catty side, I can only assume that the one’s that say it is a bad name have a child with a name in the top 10 of most popular names. Either that or your baby has a totally normal name that you thought you would spice up with an *effed* up spelling to be ORIGINAL. Damn that Britney hillbilly.

I agree with 4:06! Sutton is ok as it is, but not if you have a brother with a traditional name. Why not go with another traditional name, there are lots of nice ones out there. I would have gone with Samuel Pierce, it has a nice ring to it. Anyway, it’s not my kid….

I agree with Angie…I hated it when people had comments on our name choices for our boys. I really like the name Sutton Pierce, its uncommon and not too off the wall. Who cares if its the same initials.

To 5:12 PM, I have a VERY unique name (Roisin) SO I named my daughter a very normal name (Kate). Growing up with a unusual name is extremely hard on kids. None of my teachers could pronounce my name kids had a very hard time with it. I even remember one time where a substitute teacher told me I was spelling my name wrong for how it is pronounced. I was 7 yrs old!! It really sucked. And now anyone I meet I have to constantly remind them of my name. My older sister has a very normal name (Amy) and people would always ask why my name was so different and hers was normal. And going to job interviews was really annoying because of them trying to pronounce your name. It’s just hard. Now don’t get me wrong I love my name, but not all the hassle I go though with it. When I had Kate I think everyone was expecting me to give her a really really unique name (especially my mother). But I have been through it and I want her to be able to just say, “My name is Kate” and not have to add anything to it. I just think that people need to really think hard about how their child’s name will affect them when they grow up. And just think the normal names will be unique soon because hardly anyone names their kids those any more.

Okay, Sutton,it’s different. It’s not as common as Sean, and relaly, like Angie said, for the parents out there, did you enjoy people giving you their input of the name you picked out for your child?

I gave my kids unique names, and some did cause some talk, but in the end, they left it, because it was MY choice.

If they are happy with Sutton, then congratulations to them.

Although it is lame that she chose something with the same initials as her firstborn, I love the name Sutton. It’s not wildly outrageous but at the same time, he won’t be 1 of 14 Aidens or Peytons in his classroom.

Out of curiosity..how DO you pronounce “Roisin”????

There are plenty worse names out there than Sutton…I don’t mind the matching initials either…Ihave two “G” boys and I think it is super cool……

I personally like unique names, both of my kids have unique names, to a point. My oldest, her name is popular now, but not her spelling.
